Whoa, that was the craziest wind! What started as a typical Saturday morning ended up looking like a hurricane. On October 26th, 2020, Southern California endured powerful winds with gusts up to 96 miles per hour in some areas. Thousands of So California residents were without power after winds continued to wreak havoc overnight. Being a So Cal native, I can honestly say that I have not seen wind like this in, maybe ever. A State of emergency was declared in Glendora, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre, and Temple City due to the wind. The winds knocked down hundreds of power polls our SCE crews worked round the clock to keep us safe.
I have never seen so many downed trees, with roots completely pulled from their soil. When we see destruction like this, it always reminds me of how important it is to know and understand what coverage I have. It is essential to know and understand your policy. We work hard to get you the best coverage at the most competitive rate. It’s more than just that; it can sometimes be all the little things that add up to meaningful things. One of our clients had auto damage from a fallen tree, and thankfully they had comprehensive coverage that paid the bill, minus their deductible. What was so rewarding as an Agent was to remember that this client didn’t want to add a rental car to their policy, but taking our suggestion to add it for pennies on the dollar, they had a rental car waiting for them when their vehicle was dropped off for repairs. They were ecstatic, as so were we! These are the times when you can be thankful for having all of your Insurance policies with Withers Insurance Services, the Best Insurance Agency in San Clemente, and Orange County.
